Lola Jones Bio
Biography
Lola Jones is a Renaissance woman who teaches, writes, paints, performs, and romps in the fields of her own creations. No longer limiting herself to traditional roles, Lola does whatever the spirit moves her to do that day.
Born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1954, her Tennessee-born mom named her Bobbie Sue Jones. Her family started out in a tiny two bedroom frame house on a dirt road, but managed to get her a pony for her 9th birthday, about the time their street got paved.
After putting herself through college and earning her Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Texas in 1977, for the next 30 years she proved to be a very creative but practical person, and had several successful businesses. The focus on service that she developed early would serve her well in her many careers. Sometimes she calls those diverse careers "different lives in this body."
As a Jazzercise franchise owner in her twenties, she discovered a natural gift for motivating and changing people's lives -- without even trying. She quickly rose to leadership in that organization, and was among the top 10 instructors out of 4000 franchises worldwide. Several evenings a week she led literally hundreds of happy people in dance celebration, and that was pretty much all the "work" she did for 11 years. She added something to fill her abundant free time: hairstyling provided variety, creativity, and fun during the daytime, and taught her about customer care.
Motivational speaking and corporate training came next. For 15 years Lola was a successful full time consultant and contract trainer working with such clients as IBM, the State of Texas, and GMAC Finance. There were always powerful spiritual principles imbedded in the courses, and people's lives transformed. Lola also taught public spiritual and personal development courses during that period. Lola has always made her living doing her passions, and
she's been self-employed and inner guided most of the past 26 years of her life.
This is Lola in her full time corporate consulting days. Another life in this body!
Lola still does some of the following, but they have taken a back seat to Divine Openings and Divine Art:
So many kinds of creativity wanted expression. She used to say, "Oh, I'll be an artist when I'm an old lady." When the economic disruption of September 11, 2001 dipped the training market, Lola found herself wanting a big change. She was tired of "talking" and eventually took a year and a half off to paint. That marked the beginning of the most powerful, intuitive, and feminine stage of her life. She dived deep into the silence and painted large canvases, often not leaving City View Ranch for a week at a time (until she ran out of food and had to go to the grocery store). Painting and writing prolifically got her very happy and refreshed. Much of the art you see on this site was done between 2002 and 2004.
At 51, she began signing paintings 'Lola,' and the nickname stuck, because "what Lola wants, Lola gets." Her work has been shown in Sedona and Flagstaff, Arizona, Santa Fe, New Mexico, Austin, and Spicewood, Texas.
In a deeper dive into the mystery, Lola spent 21 days in blessed silence in India, speaking to no human, only to The Divine Presence within. "The most difficult part? Talking again!" she says. During that 21 days God gave her the ability to initiate enlightenment, heal, resolve practical life issues, and relieve suffering. Her world instantly shifted to an entirely new dimension of service, power, joy, and creativity.
Her work quickly evolved into Divine Openings. Simply being in her presence is to be splashed with a shower of Grace and awakened to The Divine in you. Lola now possesses an extraordinary ability to wake up the Divine Presence in other people. This still amuses her, since she is an ordinary, fallible human being who mows her own fields, fixes fences, and cleans her own house. She doesn't cook much though.
As a child, she told her mom she'd have animals everywhere when she grew up. That dream too came true: there are 5 chickens, 5 ducks, 2 Arabian horses, Honey the dog, nine fish, a barn kitty with 5 new babies, 2 bunnies, and numerous wild critters on City View Ranch. That's her ten-acre hilltop Heaven that overlookes the city lights of Austin.
Lola regularly creates commissioned works of art for clients who want the stunning beauty and Divine Energy of her art in their homes. She leads most of her courses at City View Ranch, but is increasingly inundated with requests to come teach in many places.
